Former President of Egypt
Anwar El-Sadat was the third President of Egypt, serving from 1970 until his assassination in 1981. He was a key figure in the Arab-Israeli peace process and is credited with negotiating the Camp David Accords. Sadat was a military officer and politician who rose to power during the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. He is remembered for his efforts to modernize Egypt and improve relations with the West. Sadat was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1978 for his efforts to bring peace to the Middle East.
