Italian Baroque composer and violinist
Arcangelo Corelli was an Italian Baroque composer and violinist. He is best known for his concertos, including the famous Concerto Grosso Op.6 No.8 - 'Christmas' (parts) for strings and harpsichord. Corelli was born in Ferrara, Italy in 1653 and died in Rome in 1713. He was a prominent figure in the development of the concerto form and is considered one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era.
