Archduke Franz Ferdinand was the heir presumptive to the throne of Austria-Hungary. He was born in 1863 in Graz, Austria. Franz Ferdinand was a military officer and politician who served as the Governor of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1908 to 1914. He was assassinated in 1914 by Gavrilo Princip.
