Arthur Machen was a Welsh author of horror, fantasy, and supernatural fiction. He is best known for his short stories and novels, which often explored themes of the supernatural and the unknown. Machen was born in 1863 in Wales and died in 1947. He is considered one of the most important horror writers of the early 20th century, and his works continue to be widely read and studied today.
