Arthur Orton
Claimant to the Tichborne estate
Arthur Orton was a British con artist and forger. He was born in 1857 in London, England. Orton was known for his ability to impersonate the missing heir to the Tichborne baronetcy, Sir Roger Tichborne. He was arrested in 1879 and later escaped from prison. Orton was eventually caught and sentenced to 14 years in prison. He died in 1898.
