About Arthur

Arthur Orton was a British con artist and forger who was born in 1848. He is best known for impersonating the missing heir to the Tichborne fortune, Sir Roger Tichborne. Orton's scheme involved posing as Tichborne and convincing his family that he was the real deal. He was eventually caught and exposed, but not before he had swindled a significant amount of money from the Tichborne family. Orton's case has been the subject of much fascination and has been the subject of several books and films.
