Arthur Shawcross, also known as the Monster of the River, is a convicted American serial killer. He was born on March 31, 1945, in Rochester, New York. Shawcross was arrested in 1987 for the murder of his 11-year-old girlfriend, and was later convicted of 21 counts of murder, rape, and kidnapping. He is currently serving 75 years to life in prison.
