Street preacher and mystic
Arthur Stace was an Australian mystic and street preacher who rose to fame in the 1930s and 40s for writing one-word sermons in chalk on the footpaths of Sydney. Stace was born in 1878 and grew up in a poor family. He began his career as a laborer but eventually turned to preaching after a series of spiritual experiences. Stace's sermons were known for their simplicity and profundity, and he became a beloved figure in Sydney. He died in 1967 at the age of 89. Stace's legacy continues to inspire people to this day.
