Aulus Cornelius Cossus was a Roman consul and statesman. He was a member of the Cornelii Cossi family, a prominent patrician family in Rome. Aulus was known for his military campaigns against the Gauls and his role in the construction of the Via Appia. He was also a prominent figure in Roman politics and was known for his oratory skills. Aulus was born into a noble family and was educated in Greek and Roman literature. He served as consul in 349 BC and was later elected as censor. He died in 327 BC at the age of 75.
