Bartle Strickland was the sheriff of Labette County, Kansas, in 1872. He was a lawman and a politician who served as sheriff from 1869 to 1873. Strickland was known for his efforts to bring the Bender family to justice for their alleged crimes. He was a strong advocate for law and order in the region.
