Lawman and sports writer
Bat Masterson was a lawman, sports writer, and gunfighter in the American West. Born in 1853 in Kansas, Masterson worked as a lawman in several towns, including Dodge City, where he met Wyatt Earp. He later became a sports writer for the New York World and wrote about boxing and other sports. Masterson died in 1921 at the age of 68. He was known for his bravery and his writing skills, and his life has been the subject of numerous books and films.
