Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay

Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay was a Bengali novelist and short story writer. He is best known for his semi-autobiographical novel Pather Panchali, which was adapted into a film by Satyajit Ray. Bandyopadhyay was born in 1894 in Calcutta, India, and began his writing career as a journalist. He is considered one of the greatest writers of Bengali literature and his works have been widely translated and adapted into films and stage productions.
