Bill Fitzsimmons was a former MLB player who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs. He was a pitcher and played in the major leagues from 1901 to 1912. Fitzsimmons was known for his speed and his ability to throw strikes. He was a key player on the Pirates' 1909 World Series championship team. Fitzsimmons is also known for his role in the development of the Pirates' farm system.
