Bill Torrey is a former General Manager of the New York Islanders, a position he held from 1981 to 1990. During his tenure, the Islanders won four Stanley Cup championships and established themselves as one of the dominant teams of the 1980s. Torrey is widely regarded as one of the greatest GMs in NHL history and is known for his shrewd trades and ability to build a winning team. He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and has been inducted into the Islanders' Hall of Fame. Torrey passed away in 2018, but his legacy continues to be celebrated by Islanders fans.
