Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich

Anne Catherine Emmerich was a German Catholic nun and mystic who lived from 1774 to 1824. She is best known for her visions of the Passion of Christ and her writings on Catholic theology. Emmerich's visions were recognized by the Catholic Church and she was declared a Blessed by Pope Pius IX in 1866. She is considered one of the most important female mystics of the 19th century.
