About BLM

The Black Lives Matter movement was founded by three individuals: Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. The movement was formed in response to the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the murder of Trayvon Martin. The founders have been vocal advocates for racial justice and police reform.
