Bob Crippen

Bob Crippen is a former NASA astronaut and space shuttle pilot. He was born on March 13, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois. Crippen graduated from the United States Naval Academy and was selected as an astronaut in 1970. He flew on four space shuttle missions, including the first space shuttle flight, STS-1. Crippen is a veteran of the US Navy and has received numerous awards for his service, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He is based in California.
