Bobby Riggs was an American tennis player and sports promoter. Born on November 25, 1918, in New York City, he is best known for his rivalry with Billie Jean King in the 1973 'Battle of the Sexes' tennis match. Riggs was a talented tennis player who won several titles, including the 1946 US Open. However, his career was also marked by controversy and scandal, including allegations of racism and sexism. Riggs died on August 25, 1995, at the age of 76.
