Brenda E. F. Beck

Brenda Beck is a professor of English and comparative literature at the University of Toronto. She is a specialist in Tamil literature and folklore. Her work has focused on the analysis of epic themes, characters, and plot structures in folktales from around the world. Beck has published numerous articles and books on the subject, including her graphic novel and English translation of the Tamil folk legend. She is also a scholar of Sanskrit narrative texts and teaches at the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies.
