Burt Lancaster was an American actor and director who appeared in over 80 films. He was known for his distinctive voice and charismatic on-screen presence. Lancaster was born on November 1, 1913, in New York City. He began his acting career on stage and made his film debut in 1938. He went on to appear in a wide range of films, including "The Maltese Falcon", "Cape Fear", and "Elmer Gantry". Lancaster was also a successful director, helming films such as "The Crimson Pirate" and "Atlantic City". He was nominated for two Academy Awards and won a Golden Globe Award. Lancaster was married to actress Jean Peters from 1959 until his death in 1994.
