Captain William Kidd

Captain William Kidd was a Scottish sailor and pirate. He is best known for his involvement in the pirate trade during the early 18th century. He was commissioned by the British government to hunt pirates, but he eventually turned to piracy himself. He was captured and executed in 1701.
