Jean-Marie Lustiger was a French cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He was born on October 16, 1924, in Paris, France. Lustiger was a prominent figure in the Catholic Church, serving as the Archbishop of Paris from 1979 until his death in 2007. He was known for his progressive views on social issues and his advocacy for human rights. Lustiger was also a prolific writer and published several books on theology and social justice. He was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI in 2011.
