Cardinal Peter Preysmann

Cardinal Peter Preysmann is a Belgian cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He was born on March 5, 1953, in Antwerp, Belgium. Preysmann studied theology at the Catholic University of Leuven and was ordained as a priest in 1978. He served as the Bishop of Antwerp from 2001 to 2010 and was appointed as the Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels in 2010. In 2019, he was appointed as the Cardinal-Dean of the College of Cardinals. He is known for his work in promoting ecumenism and interfaith dialogue.
