U.S. Senator from Nevada
Catherine Cortez Masto is an American politician serving as the senior United States Senator for Nevada. She was elected to the Senate in 2016 and became the first Latina to serve in the Senate. Cortez Masto previously served as the Attorney General of Nevada from 2007 to 2011 and as a member of the Nevada State Assembly from 1999 to 2003. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School. Cortez Masto is known for her advocacy on issues such as women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and immigration reform. She is a frequent commentator on TV and radio, and has appeared on programs such as MSNBC's Morning Joe and NPR's All Things Considered. Cortez Masto is based in Washington, D.C.
