Maritime officer and survivor of the Titanic
Charles Herbert Lightoller was a British maritime officer who served as the second officer on the RMS Titanic. He was born in 1874 and died in 1952. Lightoller was a decorated officer who had served on several ships before joining the Titanic. He was known for his bravery and skill during the ship's ill-fated maiden voyage. Lightoller survived the sinking of the Titanic and went on to serve in the Royal Navy during World War I.
