Charles Lanman

Charles Lanman was an American author and adventurer. He is known for his book 'A Thousand Miles Up the Missouri', which tells the story of his journey up the Missouri River. Lanman has also written several other books on his adventures and has received numerous awards for his work. He is currently a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Lanman has also worked as a science writer and has written for various publications. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and has served on several national committees related to environmental education and conservation.
