Charles Simonyi

Charles Simonyi is a Hungarian-American computer scientist and engineer who is best known for his work on the development of the Microsoft Office suite. He played a leading role in creating Word, Excel, and other popular software applications. Simonyi is also a passionate advocate for space exploration and has flown on two space missions to the International Space Station. He has also founded and funded several space-related projects, including the Simonyi Survey Telescope in Chile.
