Prominent Western-educated public intellectual and Soviet Comintern agent
Chen Hansheng was a prominent Western-educated public intellectual who worked for the Soviet Comintern and Communist Party of China. He was a key figure in the early Chinese Revolution and was known for his radical ideas about socialism and communism. Chen was born in China but spent much of his life in the United States, where he wrote, lectured, and taught. He was a vocal supporter of the Soviet Union and played a key role in promoting communist ideology in China. Chen's life and work have been the subject of much controversy and debate. He died in 1936.
