Chester Nez was a Navajo code talker who played a crucial role in the development of the Navajo code. Born in 1921, Nez was one of the original 29 men chosen to create the code. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific Theater. Nez's code was used extensively throughout the war and is still considered one of the most secure codes ever developed. After the war, Nez worked as a mechanic and later became a motivational speaker. He passed away in 2014 at the age of 92.
