NBA pioneer and trailblazer
Chuck Cooper was an American basketball player who played in the NBA from 1950 to 1963. He was the first African American player in the league and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979. Cooper was a key figure in the Civil Rights movement and was a vocal advocate for racial equality. He was also a successful businessman and entrepreneur.
