Former US Air Force pilot and advocate for nuclear disarmament
Claude Eatherly was a US Air Force pilot who served during World War II. He is best known for being the pilot of the B-29 bomber that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima in 1945. However, Eatherly later became an advocate for nuclear disarmament and spoke out against the use of nuclear weapons. He was a prominent figure in the European peace movement in the 1980s.
