Clay Shaw was a New Orleans businessman and suspect in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He was arrested on March 1, 1967, and subsequently indicted on charges of conspiracy to murder Kennedy. Shaw was a prominent figure in New Orleans society and was known for his connections to the city's wealthy elite. He was also a vocal critic of the Warren Commission's findings on the Kennedy assassination. Shaw's trial was marked by controversy and criticism, but he was ultimately acquitted of all charges. He died in 1974 at the age of 55.
