Irish novelist and short story writer
Colm Tóibín is an Irish novelist and short story writer. He was born in Enniscorthy, Ireland in 1955. Tóibín is best known for his novels Brooklyn and The Master, which won the Costa Novel Award and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize, respectively. He has also written several short story collections and essays. Tóibín is a professor of English at Princeton University and has been a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. He is known for his nuanced and insightful writing style, which often explores themes of identity, history, and human relationships.
