Constantine XI Palaiologos

Constantine XI Palaiologos was the last Emperor of the Byzantine Empire. He ruled from 1449 until his death in 1453. Palaiologos was a member of the Palaiologos dynasty, which had ruled the Byzantine Empire since the 13th century. He is known for his efforts to defend Constantinople against the Ottoman Empire. Palaiologos was a skilled military leader and politician. He is remembered as a hero of the Byzantine Empire.
