Author of fairy tales
Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish author best known for his fairy tales, including 'The Little Mermaid'. Andersen was born in 1805 in Odense, Denmark, and began writing stories at a young age. He published his first collection of fairy tales in 1835, and went on to write many more, including 'The Emperor's New Clothes' and 'The Ugly Duckling'. Andersen's stories have been translated into many languages and have become classics of children's literature. He died in 1875 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
