Crates of Thebes was an ancient Greek philosopher who lived in the 3rd century BC. He was a student of the Cynic philosopher Zeno of Citium and went on to become a prominent figure in the Cynic school. Crates was known for his witty sayings and humorous anecdotes, which often poked fun at the excesses of ancient Greek society. He is considered one of the most important figures in the history of Cynic philosophy.
