Daphne Sheldrick

Daphne Sheldrick was a British wildlife conservationist who worked tirelessly to protect endangered animals in Africa. She was particularly known for her work with orphaned elephants and was the founder of the Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Sheldrick was also a vocal advocate for human rights and was a strong critic of the Rwandan government's actions during the genocide.
