David Baltimore

David Baltimore is a Nobel laureate and molecular biologist who has made significant contributions to the field of molecular biology. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1975 for his discovery of reverse transcriptase, an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the replication of retroviruses. Baltimore has also made important contributions to the development of monoclonal antibodies and has served as a president of several scientific organizations, including the National Academy of Sciences. He is currently a professor of biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego.
