David Kipping

David Kipping is an American astronomer who researches extrasolar planets and moons. He is an Assistant Professor of Astronomy at Columbia University and leads the Cool Worlds Lab. Dr. Kipping has a YouTube channel and website where he shares his research and educational content. He is known for his work on exoplanet detection and characterization. Kipping received his PhD in Astronomy from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Kipping has published numerous papers on exoplanetary science and has presented his research at conferences around the world. He is a popular science communicator and has given talks at science festivals and events.
