Dr. John C. Priscu is a research scientist and expert on Antarctic research who has spent years studying the environment and ecosystems of Antarctica. He is a professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and has led numerous expeditions to Antarctica. Priscu has also served as the director of the U.S. Antarctic Program and has been a key figure in the development of the Antarctic Treaty System. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the National Science Foundation's Award for Excellence in Science.
