Dr. Richard Tresch Fienberg is an American astronomer and science communicator. He is a retired professor of astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley. Fienberg has written several books on astronomy and science, including 'Galileo's Italy' and 'The Stars: A New Way to See Them'. He has also served as the Expert Astronomer for Sky & Telescope's September 2025 Astronomy Tour. Fienberg is a Senior Advisor to the CEO of the American Astronomical Society and a Senior Contributing Editor with Sky & Telescope.
