Dr. Vishal Gajjar

Dr. Vishal Gajjar is a researcher working as a project scientist with the Breakthrough Listen program. He received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the National Center for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA-TIFR) in India. As one of the team members of the Breakthrough Listen team, he leads SETI activities on half-a-dozen radio telescopes around the globe. Dr. Gajjar has extensive experience in radio astronomy and has worked with the world's largest radio mid-frequency radio telescope — the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (GMRT). He is a leading expert in the field of SETI and has published numerous papers on the topic. Dr. Gajjar is also a strong advocate for the search for extraterrestrial life and has given several lectures on the subject. He is currently based in the United States and continues to work on various SETI projects.
