Dr. Zora Neale Hurston was an anthropologist and writer who was born in 1891 in Notasulga, Alabama. She is best known for her work on voodoo and its cultural significance in the African diaspora. Hurston was a prominent figure in the Harlem Renaissance and wrote several books, including 'Their Eyes Were Watching God'. She was also a skilled musician and played the guitar. Hurston passed away in 1960. She is still widely studied and admired today for her contributions to anthropology and literature.
