Actor and pioneer for black representation in horror
Duane Jones was an American actor and director who was a pioneer for black representation in horror films. He is best known for his role as Ben in George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead.” Jones was a trailblazer for black actors in horror films and paved the way for future generations of black actors in the genre. He was also a director and producer, and worked on several films and television shows throughout his career. Jones passed away in 1977, but his legacy continues to be celebrated today.
