Dyab Abou Jahjah is a French-Tunisian activist and former leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). He was born in 1973 in Tunisia and moved to France at a young age. Abou Jahjah became involved in the FARC in the 1990s and rose through the ranks to become the group's leader. He was arrested in 2005 and extradited to Colombia, where he was put on trial for treason. Abou Jahjah was convicted and sentenced to 22 years in prison, but he was released in 2011 after serving 6 years. He has since become a prominent figure in the international anti-globalization movement and has written several books on politics and activism.
