Edward I was the King of England and Wales from 1272 to 1307. He was a member of the House of Plantagenet and is known for his military campaigns in Wales and Scotland. Edward I was a skilled military leader and expanded English territories through his conquests. He was also a patron of the arts and architecture, and his reign saw the construction of many castles, including Conwy Castle. Edward I died in 1307 while on a campaign in Scotland.
