American composer and pianist
Edward MacDowell was an American composer and pianist of the late Romantic era. He was born in 1860 in New York City and studied music at the Juilliard School. MacDowell was known for his contributions to the development of American classical music, and his works include symphonies, concertos, and chamber music. He was also a prolific pianist and performed throughout his career. MacDowell died in 1908 at the age of 48.
