Eileen Whitaker

Survivor of near-fatal electrocution accident

Eileen Whitaker is a 19-year-old woman who survived a near-fatal electrocution accident in 1970. She was working as a summer job at the time and was electrocuted while trying to lift a snowmobile from a melting snow puddle. Whitaker's accident left her paralyzed and with no memory of how she got there. She has since become an advocate for workplace safety and has spoken publicly about her experience.
