Emmeline Pankhurst was a British suffragette and women's rights activist. She was a leading figure in the women's suffrage movement in the UK, and her daughter Christabel Pankhurst was also a prominent figure. Emmeline Pankhurst was born in 1858 in Manchester, England, and died in 1928. She was known for her radical tactics, including hunger strikes and property damage, to draw attention to the cause of women's suffrage. Pankhurst was also a skilled orator and writer, and her writings helped to galvanize the movement. She was arrested numerous times for her activism, but continued to fight for women's rights until her death.
