Eric von Hippel is a professor of management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is known for his work on open innovation, lead user studies, and user-driven innovation. Von Hippel has written several books on the topic, including 'Democratizing Innovation' and 'Lead User Networks'. He has also received numerous awards for his research, including the National Academy of Engineering's Draper Prize for Engineering. Von Hippel has a Ph.D. in management from MIT and has taught at several universities, including Harvard and Stanford.
